Moment Virvelvind is the last expression in the exclusive Moment series where the unique and special casks get the attention they deserve in very limited editions. To close the circle, Moment Virvelvind got its inspiration from the first edition (Moment Medvind). A slightly peated whisky with red apples, pear and fresh citrus tones and of course, Swedish oak as the backbone. A grand finale to say the least.

Nose: Sweet fruit in the shape of pears and red apples is balanced by distinct citrus, vanilla and muscovado sugar. All surrounded by a veil of smoke.

Taste: Soft oak tones, acidic and pomerans. Madagascar vanilla, fudge ripe pear complemented with a light volatile smoke of peat and juniper. 

Aftertaste: Long aftertaste with tones of juniper and lime. Aromatic finish with tobacco leaves and oak.

The Final Moment

The first edition (Moment Medvind) is the main inspiration for the 36th and last edition in the Moment series. The recipe is the same but much has changed over the years and it will definitely show in Moment Virvelvind. The casks have been stored significantly longer and were all filled in 2007 and 2010. Virvelvind is a dignified ending to the Moment series and closes a chapter to let a new one begin.

We discovered early that sometimes some casks are special in our mine in Bodås where we store most of our whisky. The idea of a limited exclusive series grew and Moment was born. Through the years the Moment series has been known for both unique casks and collaborations. With an uncompromising design and craft, it has been loved by both collectors and connoisseurs.
